PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 ‘Dark Souls II’ Servers to Shut Down This March

Horror

We’ve had the reveal, the behind the scenes footage, and even had a bit of a swerve. Still, the question remains: When are we going to see Slitterhead? Thankfully, 2024 appears to be the year, according to developer Bokeh Game Studio.

Per 4Gamer.net (and translated by Gematsu), the Japanese website did their annual roundup of end-of-year creator interviews, interviewing 176 developers, with many of them teasing new titles and announcements in their statements for their 2024 ambitions. Among them were Bokeh Game Studio co-founders Kazunobu Sato and Keiichiro Toyama, who both stated that 2024 would be an important one for Slitterhead.

“Bokeh Game Studio continues its hard work on the development of Slitterhead. I think next year will be a special year for the project,” said Sato. While Toyama calls 2024 “a decisive year” for the upcoming Survival Horror game. “2024 will be a decisive year in which our studio’s first title Slitterhead will really begin being shown. Given that it will significantly influence our future, it will be an important year, so I would like to face it with enthusiasm.”

Fans waiting on Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will also apparently get their wish, as Dragami Games’ Yoshimi Yasuda reiterated that the remaster will be out in 2024. “By ‘walking the righteous path’ of carrying over the worldview and scenario from the original game that were so well received, while revising elements that users requested we improve and adding carefully selected new elements, we’re aiming to create a title that many players on modern hardware can fall in love with. And another thing—while we’re not at the stage where we can announce it yet, we’re developing a new title outside of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. I think we will be able make an announcement in 2025, but we’re aiming to make it a good game that will satisfy many players.”

And while Suda51 isn’t involved with the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster, the Grasshopper Manufacture founder stated that the Shadows of the Damned remaster that was announced earlier this year will again see a 2024 release. “2024 will be a lively year for Grasshopper. A remaster of Shadows of the Damned will be released. And we are hard at work on a new title!”

Slitterhead is currently in development for PC. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is aiming for a Summer 2024 release on PC and consoles, while Shadows of the Damned: Remaster is “probably” coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
