Tokyo Game Show 2022 has kicked off with Capcom revealing new details for their upcoming “Winters’ Expansion” DLC for Resident Evil Village. Along with that news, Capcom also revealed that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake will be making its way to the PlayStation 4.
As mentioned previously, the Winters’ Expansion includes a new story campaign, Shadows Of Rose. The new story takes place 16 years after Village, where Ethan’s daughter Rose has grown up, and now has to contend with her powers. Desperate to be rid of her powers, she enters the consciousness of the Megamycete. It’s here she encounters “Michael”, a being who offers her help in removing her powers. It’s also here she meets a woman who looks exactly like her, along with a host of creatures and the world itself looking to kill her.
That killing part is key, since even a single attack can be fatal for Rose. To counter this, and despite wanting to be rid of her powers, Rose can use her abilities to freeze enemies, enabling her to target weak points and defeat them easier.
Meanwhile, Capcom has announced that the Resident Evil 4 remake will be coming to the PlayStation 4, alongside the previously-announced PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions. No word on if the Xbox One will be getting a version. As a parting treat, Capcom announced another Resident Evil Showcase event for next month, which will include more information on the RE4 remake.
The “Winters’ Expansion” DLC, alongside Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, arrives October 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Switch users will be getting their chance to play the DLC on December 2nd. Resident Evil 4 is expected to be released on March 24, 2023.
