Venom’s origin story was extremely different in the comics, likely because Spider-Man currently exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The alien symbiote was first introduced in Marvel Comics’ “Secret Wars” #8 in which the extraterrestrial being bonded itself with Peter Parker, offering him an extremely cool all-black costume. This would carry over into an “Amazing Spider-Man” arc in which Parker is forced to break the bond, angering the symbiote.

Venom, who first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man” issues #298-300, was birthed from this rage. Eddie Brock, also a “victim” of Parker, would find common ground with the alien and thus the infinite bond is formed.

In Sony Pictures’ live-action Venom, the alien symbiote is secured by the Life Foundation and eventually makes its way to Brock. A very different take on the source material.

While this version of the story may never exist within the recent timeline, there is a world in which the symbiote could still find its way on Peter Parker’s body, especially after the bigtime post-credit teaser in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. And speaking of post-credits scenes, there may or may not be another one worth noting here, but we won’t spoil anything…

Let’s assume Tom Holland reprises his Spider-Man role in a film with Tom Hardy‘s Eddie Brock/Venom. Let’s take that a step further and imagine that the symbiote finds its way onto Holland’s body. Marvel concept artist Thomas du Crest shares their take on what it might look like if Holland wore a Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Spider-Man’s black symbiote suit!
