‘Resident Evil’ Recreated in Unity, With Added First-Person Mode

Horror

For all the questions surrounding the potential remake of Capcom’s Resident Evil remake, a fan finally decided to do something about it, and threw in something special, to boot.

PerroAutonomo has released a beta version of his Resident Evil remake in the Unity Engine, which features a first-person camera perspective. Keep in mind that this isn’t the same game as Capcom’s official Resident Evil remake, but rather the OG version. Meaning, this is closer in look and gameplay to the PlayStation, Saturn and PC versions released in 1997.

However, as mentioned, this version features a first-person camera, so you can freely look around and explore without the fixed-camera of old.

PerroAutonomo has made the beta available for download from itch.io, though you might want to grab it sooner rather than later. While Capcom has been pretty chill with the modding community and Resident Evil, you never know with something like this.

Big thanks to DSOGaming for the story, and the always-reliable Residence of Evil for the gameplay video.
