Euphoria is returning with two new episodes ahead of season two, Zendaya confirmed in an Instagram post on Monday (October 19).

Zendaya, who plays Rue Bennett on the show, told fans that “two special episodes” will air toward the end of this year.

The new Euphoria episodes will tide fans as they wait patiently for season two,  which has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Zendaya announced the first special will air December 6 on HBO in the US, adding: “We really missed them. Two special Euphoria episodes coming soon.”

HBO has confirmed the first episode will be titled “Trouble Don’t Last Always”. Sources told Variety it will be made available to stream on HBO Max after its premiere.

The special will see Rue attempting to celebrate Christmas after she left by Jules (Hunter Schaefer) at a train station and relapsed. Details of the second episode are yet to be announced.

Zendaya made history as the youngest person to win an Emmy for Best Drama Actress.

Zendaya recently made history by becoming the youngest person to win the Emmy award for Best Drama Actress.

The 24-year-old beat competition from actors Olivia Colman (The Crown), Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Laura Linney (Ozark) and last year’s winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve).

The Emmy ceremony was held virtually, and Zendaya accepted the award at home surrounded by her family. She gave a heartwarming acceptance speech, saying: “This is pretty crazy, I don’t really cry,” as tears ran down her face.

She is the second Black woman to win this category in history, after Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder, in 2015).

Zendaya continued in her acceptance speech: “I know this feels like is a really weird time to be celebrating.

“But I just want to say there is hope in the young people out there, I know that our TV show doesn’t always feel like a great example of that, but there is hope in the young people.”
