Chris Evans Turned an Accidental Nude Photo Leak Into Political Activism

Pop Culture

Chris Evans turned a nude he accidentally shared with the Internet into an opportunity to get out the vote.

On Saturday, the actor inadvertently shared a photo of what appeared to be an erect penis on social media while playing a game of “Head’s Up” with his 6.2 million followers. Evans posted and then quickly deleted a video that he forgot to edit first, revealing a gallery of videos and pictures at the end of the clip that included the aforementioned nude.

On Monday night, Evans humorously addressed the incident that led to his name trending on Twitter for days, tweeting, “Now that I have your attention…VOTE Nov 3rd!!!,” alongside a hand on head and shrug emoji.

He also made it clear he’s taking this slip-up in stride on The Tamron Hall Show on Tuesday morning, saying, “It was an interesting weekend full of lessons learned, a lot of teachable moments. It’s embarrassing, but you gotta roll with the punches. I have fantastic fans who came to my support.”

In addition to those fantastic fans, a handful of celebrities also came to Evans’s defense over the weekend. His Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo tweeted, “.@ChrisEvans Bro, while Trump is in office there is NOTHING you could possibly do to embarrass yourself. See… silver lining.” Chrissy Teigen also weighed in, writing, “My WhatsApp automatically saves every photo to my roll so any boobs in my phone are my girlfriends showing me their boobs or boobs they hate or boobs they love or yeah def also my boobs. I’d say 80 percent of my roll is whatsapp nonsense between friends.”

Evans’s younger brother Scott, on the other hand, joked, “Was off social media for the day yesterday. So. What’d I miss?”
