Anthony Weiner Was Spotted in the Hamptons Too

Pop Culture

It’s been a few years since Anthony Weiner’s true tabloid heyday, but following his release from prison last year, he continues to pop up here and there. In February, Page Six reported that parents at his son’s private school in Manhattan had a representative reach out to express their discomfort about the convicted sex offender possibly being allowed on school grounds. Last year, the tabloid reported that he moved into a separate unit in his wife Huma Abedin’s apartment building after the two didn’t go through with a planned divorce.

In 2017, Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison for sending sexually explicit texts to a 15-year-old girl, and ended up serving 18 of them.

On Monday, Page Six reported a Weiner sighting in the Hamptons. “Strange but true. Just saw Anthony Weiner at a children’s park in Sag Harbor with his kid,” a source told the tabloid, adding, “I noticed him before he put his mask on.”

It is not, by Weiner standards, a particularly explosive sighting or tabloid item. But almost a decade on from the tweet that launched a million of them, it goes to show that he remains fodder for a genre that has life in it yet.
