Ringo Starr has announced a livestream benefit in celebration of his 80th birthday on Tuesday, July 7. The event will feature new at-home performances alongside previously taped concert footage, with Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Sheryl Crow, Sheila E., and others slated to participate. Proceeds will be split between the Black Lives Matter Global Network, MusiCares, The David Lynch Foundation, and WaterAid. The stream will happen on Starr’s YouTube channel at 8 p.m. Eastern.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Let It Be, the Beatles’ final studio album. The Beatles: Get Back, a documentary assembled by Peter Jackson about the band’s final months, was supposed to arrive in September to mark the occasion. The release has been delayed until August 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
