Single/Video Review: Revolushn “Electric”
Music, News

One of the most creative videos to come out on the planet this year is California’s psych band Revolusn’s (spelled the Russian way), “Electric”, released April 1 2020. The song hits you like an avalanche spiraling down a mountain side with no prior warning or regard for sensibility. It’s a journey through a real of surrealistic adventure, with an undying positivity and “I don’t give a fuck” ambience.

The band is filled with iconism including frontman No Mansfield who has played with artists  including Sir Rod Stewart, Aretha Franklin, Berlin, No Doubt, Devo and others, Dave Kendrick (DeKay) legendary drummer for the band Devo, visionary bassist Neil Nyberg, vocal wizard Kim Aston, and Olga Ilene Shubert former Russian Red Army doctor, artist, music video master on keys. In this particular case saxophonist Scott Page from Pink Floyd, Supertramp and Toto is thrown into the epic mix.

The super driven message of “You can’t stop us” and “You can do anything you want” is a fitting directive for today’s current events. “You can’t stop us cause we are electric” “You can’t stop us cause we are Defective” pretty mush says it all, and there’s nothing more to say except that the track is bouncy, fun, and electric.

The video is a work of genius by Olga Ilene Shubert with a techno flair that is unprecedented. A good portion of the film took place at the “Mars Rocks” concert benefitting the colonization of the Red planet….which says something in itself.  There is a powerful message embedded within the film which was done with sensitivity and intense passion.

I’m excited to see what is next for Revolushn……..you should be too!!
