Fans have stopped watching The View, but why are they abandoning the long-running daytime talk show? It has been on for nearly thirty years and is a staple at ABC. Yet, viewers are not so thrilled with the series. Keep reading for further details.
Fans No Longer Watching The View
The View has been a hit for ABC since 1997, and has gone through many co-hosts. There has always been some controversy with the show as fans have felt the show has gone on way with their thinking. They have been deemed too opinionated or liberal, but moderator Whoopi Goldberg has made things very clear. She feels that fans believe the hosts have certain beliefs, and that may not necessarily be true. Whoopi added that they present their thoughts but do not want anyone to feel they have to go along with them. It is an open forum, and that has made the show a success for years.
Now, viewers are up in arms over the fact that they are only airing reruns. It is not so much the lack of new episodes, but that it comes with no warning. They would appreciate a memo saying that these are not new or live, so that they do not get excited to watch only to be let down. Some talk shows will film a few new interviews to go along with the show’s hiatus. However, The View did not do that and left people upset over spring break. It goes even deeper as episodes are up on YouTube, but presented as new.
Fans are not blaming the ladies, as they have no control over what happens. Yet, they are pointing the finger at the executive producer, Brian Teta. They believe he should be more mindful that people want to know what is in store for them. That being said, it has turned viewers off from the show and no longer have the desire to tune in. They are admittedly jumping ship because they do not like the lies.
‘Garbage’ Television
Some fans of The View are trashing the talk show, calling it “garbage.” It seems to have taken a nosedive and is struggling to recover. After watching a repeat, where Joy Behar moderated, followers chimed in with their disdain:
- It’s all the same garbage anyway
- When you are posting reruns put it in the title of your posted video
- It had me stop viewing…
- Didn’t get the memo that this program would be in reruns all week.
- Yes, please tell us when the episode is a Rerun
One added that they thought it was just them who had no idea the show would be on hiatus. It was not as the community came together to slam the lack of organization. They are not mad at the show, per se, but rather the way the hiatus was handled.
