Remember ‘Antlers’? It’s Still Coming This Halloween and We’ve Got Some New Images!

Horror

Director Scott Cooper‘s Antlers, produced by Guillermo del Toro, had been set for release in April 2020 via Disney’s Searchlight, but that date was of course bumped back indefinitely due to the ongoing pandemic. A new date of February 2021 was subsequently announced but then also ditched, with the most recent announcement shifting the date to October 29, 2021.

As far as we’ve heard, Antlers is still set for release on October 29, but the lack of marketing sure seems to suggest otherwise. Then again, movie marketing has all around become quite different in the midst of the industry-changing pandemic, with studios pushing their movies hard just before they’re unleashed, rather than thinking long term with their marketing plans.

In any event, we’ve got some new images from Antlers for you today, which remind that yes, Antlers is still a movie, and yes, it will finally be releasing soon. If nothing changes, that is…

In Antlers, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.

Based on the short story “The Quiet Boy” by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero”), Antlers is written by Henry Chaisson and Antosca, with revisions by Cooper.
