‘Paranormal Activity’ Ultimate Chills Collection Brings the Entire Franchise to Blu-ray in October

Horror

Released into theaters last month, Sony’s The Invitation has thus far scared up $30 million worldwide in theaters, and the film’s Unrated version is available on Digital NOW.

Deleted Scenes and an Alternate Ending are also included with the home video release, and Bloody Disgusting is exclusively sharing that alternate ending this afternoon.

While the theatrical version of the movie ends with Dracula being vanquished by heroine Evie, this alternate ending changes the game completely. It reveals that Dracula is very much still alive, and it serves as a short adaptation of the “Last Voyage of the Demeter” storyline from Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel. Dracula lives, and he’s boarded a Russian sailing vessel…

For those who weren’t aware, The Invitation is positioned as a stealth Dracula adaptation, with Thomas Doherty‘s Walter De Ville being revealed to be the iconic blood-sucker. He’s lured distant relative Evie to his castle to make her one of his Brides, a twist audiences likely wouldn’t have seen coming had the trailers not spilled the beans on the vampiric threat.

Watch The Invitation‘s alternate ending below, which suggests that we maybe haven’t seen the last of Thomas Doherty’s take on Dracula. Perhaps Evie is this universe’s Van Helsing…

In the film from director Jessica M. Thompson

“After the death of her mother and having no other known relatives, Evie (Nathalie Emmanuel) takes a DNA test…and discovers a long-lost cousin she never knew she had. Invited by her newfound family to a lavish wedding in the English countryside, she’s at first seduced by the sexy aristocrat host but is soon thrust into a nightmare of survival as she uncovers twisted secrets in her family’s history and the unsettling intentions behind their sinful generosity.”
