Drag Race announces brand new host for latest spin-off series

International drag superstar Priscilla has been named as the new host for RuPaul’s latest spin-off show, Drag Race Italia.

The inaugural season of Drag Race Italia will sashay onto Discovery Plus Italia and WOW Presents Plus this November, joining the ever-expanding drag televisual Ru-universe.

At its helm will be Neapolitan drag entertainer Priscilla, otherwise known as Mariano Gallo, who’ll be judging an all-new cast of Italian queens.

Priscilla is widely known for her work in the Grecian nightlife metropolis of Mykonos, where she’s a regular fixture at the JackieO’ beach club as the Queen of Mykonos.

Her profile skyrocketed after she competed on the 2017 season of Ellada Eheis Talento, the Greek iteration of the global Got Talent series.

On the show, she performed a lip-sync rendition of Ike and Tina Turner‘s cover of the Creedence Clearwater Revival tune “Proud Mary.”

Priscilla will be joined on the jury by Italian actor Chiara Francini and TV personality Tommaso Zorzi, who won the country’s version of Big Brother, Grande Fratello Vip.

On Thursday Priscilla shared the first promotional image of the three of them on the Drag Race set together.

The Italian series is the fourth European entry in the franchise following Drag Race UK, Holland and Espana. The Spanish version premiered in May this year.

RuPaul’s global family also includes editions in Thailand, Canada and Australia and New Zealand.

The winner of will join current reigning drag champions Lawrence Chaney (Drag Race UK season two), Symone (Drag Race season 13), Kita Mean (Drag Race Down Under season one) and Priyanka (Canada’s Drag Race season one).

There’s certainly no shortage of drag content for eager fans for the time being. All Stars 6 is currently airing on new streaming on Paramount Plus. The show also revealed a new inclusive theme song.

The remixed lyrics for the show are now: “May the best drag queen win,” whereas in previous seasons, the lyrics were: “May the best woman win”.
