Ryan Murphy has revealed that he is working on a new project which will star Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott – but there’s a catch.

The popular gay television writer has apparently got the two actors on board for the project, even though he hasn’t quite figured out what it’ll be about.

The “project” doesn’t have a name or a storyline, but it looks as though it will one day grace our television screens.

Murphy, who is known for creating TV shows like Glee, American Horror Story, Pose and Hollywood, revealed his latest project in an Instagram post yesterday (May 3).

Ryan Murphy hasn’t written his next project yet, but he knows Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott will star in it.

“So yes it’s TRUE I am writing a project for national treasures Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott to star in together,” Murphy wrote.

“Should it be a romance? A buddy comedy? A heist movie? All I know is Leslie is going to be fabulously wealthy in it, and Dylan will have a backstory as a former masseur.”

While there’s not a whole lot of information in the Instagram post, there’s enough for fans to get excited.

I volunteer to be an unpaid intern,” one person commented.

Another begged Murphy to make Jordan and McDermott’s characters lovers in the upcoming project.

“Give us the romance we need!” they added.

Another person commented: “This show has already won all of the golden globes.”

Sugar Daddy musical if you please,” another commenter begged.

The gay TV writer made the announcement just two days after Hollywood landed on Netflix to mixed reviews.

Murphy announced his upcoming project just two days after his latest television series Hollywood hit Netflix.

The seven episode miniseries tells the story of a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers during the Golden Age of Hollywood in the years after the Second World War.

Its star-studded cast includes David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Dylan McDermott, Holland Taylor, Jim Parsons and Patti LuPone.

But that wasn’t enough to nab the support of critics – Hollywood has garnered mixed reviews since it landed on the streaming giant last week, with many criticising its tone and screenplay.
